Living India Founders

Rabbi Joseph Edelheit has been an AIDS activist since 1986 and served on President Clinton’s Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. He has written and lectured extensively on interfaith responses to HIV/AIDS both in America and India. He is currently Director and Professor of Religious Studies at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota.

Machelle Norling has been an AIDS activist for 20 years as a caregiver and community educator. She has worked in India for more than a decade with non-profit service projects. She is currently completing a Master of Public Administration Degree at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota with an emphasis on women and children in India.

Rev. Scott Norling has worked in India for more than 30 years in various roles of human and community service. His work has been anchored in both rural and urban settings ranging from the rehabs of abandoned clinics, feeding and education programs, fresh water bore wells, and micro-loans for women.
